The maps are constructed of three layers. The bottom layer (MDF) is painted a rich lake blue color and forms the base of the map. The middle layer (Maple Plywood) is the main engraving layer which engraves a deep rich brown. And the top layer (Walnut) frames the map.

All maps are laser engraved in the same pattern with all the lakes cut out of the top layer to reveal the sea blue color underneath.
On the back of the maps are two sawtooth-style hangers which make for easy hanging on your favorite wall. You can even prop these up on a mantle, or shelf which looks great, too.
